Business complained that whenever they are adding a notification to a work order, they get a pop up error “Maintenance planning plant XXXX not permitted”. At the first glance it seems some data is not maintained. But the actual issue is in the standard code.

[adToAppearHere]

Steps to replicate the issue

Step 1: Go to t-code IW22 -> Maintenance Notification -> Order -> Assign. (optional: if you get Status check error, make sure to change to relavant User Status, say WP Waiting Planning)

Step 2: Provide the work order number and hit the Assign icon. You will get the error.

Root Cause: Issue is in the standard function module “WCFX_WCMOBJ2ORDER_CHECK”.

Solution: Implement the SAP Note 2018347, WCM: Undesired message.

It would make the below correction in the code and you would not get the dreaded message “Maintenance planning plant xxxx not permitted”.

MP 5

Have a good day.. 🙂
